Had a super wonderful week in Scottsdale
It was great workshop with Jove and now I am back in the studio with a fresh perspective.

STUDY FOR FIGURE

This is a small study I did yesterday. I am still in Arizona in a workshop with Jove wang. Can I tell you what an incredible artist he is and what a wonderful opportunity this is for me? My images are pathetic because I do not have my usual programs here to adjust the light. I am learning lots, and having a great time.

I have been a bit absent on the daily painters. I am in a workshop this week. Jove Wang is an incredible modern master and I am fortunate to be able to be a student of his this week.

I am not a portrait painter, this is all new to me. It is a humbling experience. I thought I would share my progress with you.

This week I have been deeply saddened by the loss of a family member, my nephew, a beautiful young man, 21 years old, with so much promise. When you met him, looked in his eyes, felt his smile, you just could not help but fall in love with him.

This painting reminded me of the innocence of a child.
Please pray for his mother.

Took the last few days off, it was our 17 year anniversary yesterday.
Went to Joan Jett a free concert at the Canyons resort. My son worked the concert, he is studying stage tech and loves working all the concerts here. He likes to bring home the guitar picks, autographs, and play lists, plus he meets everyone in person. BB King, Willie Nelson, Keb mo, etc. It was a great concert yesterday, then had a nice dinner with Andy's brother, sister in law, and three children. We had an incredible time with them all. Great peeps to hang with.
And the best news of all is my mother is home and much better. She is the angel of my life.
