8X10 OIL ON CANVAS BOARD
Wyoming Landscape
My friend Reid Galey , challanged me to a 4 color exercise, Zorn used this limited pallete.
Here it is Reid, feel free to give me a critique! This one was fun, but I really missed my colors, maybe tomorrow I will try another and use a cooler range of color.

Way to go! Sometimes you can change your colors to say Aliz instead of cad red, this will give you a better range of " pretty" colors. Nice painting. It makes you think..... The whole theory about Zorn was that he would use the colors compliment color near the color you are using, so if you want to make a blue(white and black) bluer, use orange around it. look at Zorn's paintings, they are amazing. Go to ebay and look up Anders Zorn and they have prints all over the place. Look at his paintings, and look at how he uses a touch of a compliment color around a color..Pretty amazing! Keep painting you Danger Painter you!!
Cheers, Reid See you at the Russell show!

Way to Go! Nice painting. Go to ebay and look for Anders Zorn, they have tons of prints of his, look at his colors....all based on putting a complimentary color next to a color. No you have to do 10,000 more!
Cheers,
Reid
That spot looks familiar - looks great.
Okay Diane...how did you get Paintboy to respond to you???....:)
Reid??????? Are you out there??
Paintboy, like your handle (is that what they call it?)
Deb, he just appeared and disappeared, bam, just like that...he does that you know.
I am going to try cad yellow/violet/orange/blue soon.
I will experiment with using an orange around a blue, sounds like fun!
WOW, I love this painting! It's a beautiful scene and flows around the canvas like a dance, the colors doing a vibrant jig! I hope it will be en plein air again in September! Hugs your way, MB
